You buy online, choosing the option you need: general admission, combined ticket for the Alcazaba and Gibralfaro, or guided tour of the Alcazaba and Roman Theatre. Then you select the day and time based on availability. Once your purchase is complete, you'll receive email confirmation with your voucher and access details. If you've booked a guided tour, that same voucher will include the meeting point and information for joining the group.

Yes. Your booking is confirmed by email and the voucher is designed to be shown on your phone on the day of your visit. There's no need to print it.

It depends on real-time availability. The quickest way to check is the calendar: if there are available times, you can book; if a date or time slot shows no spaces, there's no capacity for that option at that moment.

From 1 November to 31 March: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
From 1 April to 31 October: 9:00 am to 8:00 pm.
In both cases, the last admission is one hour before closing.

Every Sunday from 2:00 pm, admission to the Alcazaba is free for all visitors. If you'd rather avoid the crowds during the free time slot, morning visits tend to be quieter.

If you already know the day and want a specific time slot, it's best to book as soon as you see availability on the calendar, especially on weekends, public holidays, or if you're after a specific time for the guided tour.

The meeting point is shown on your confirmation voucher once your booking is complete. It's best to arrive at least 10 minutes early to find your guide and start on time.

The main entrance is on Calle Alcazabilla, next to the Roman Theatre, just a few minutes' walk from Calle Larios and Plaza de la Merced. You walk up a ramped path within the walled enclosure.

No. Once you leave the enclosure, the ticket does not allow re-entry. It's best to finish the whole visit before leaving.

Yes. There's a path connecting both fortresses through La Coracha, the walled passage along the hillside. If you buy the combined ticket for the Alcazaba and Gibralfaro, you can complete the full route going down from the castle to the Alcazaba, or the other way around.

The general admission ticket only grants access to the Alcazaba. The combined ticket also includes Gibralfaro Castle in the same purchase. If you want to see both monuments, the combined ticket works out better than buying them separately.

If you'd rather explore the Alcazaba at your own pace, the self-guided ticket is a good fit. If you'd rather truly understand what you're looking at, the guided tour pays off, since it gives you an organised route with commentary from the Roman Theatre to the upper enclosure.

It depends on the option. For the guided tour, cancellation conditions are shown on each activity's listing. For the general admission and combined tickets, once purchased, no changes or refunds are accepted, unless the visit cannot take place for reasons attributable to Malaga City Council.

For guided tours, you can reschedule according to each option's conditions. For self-guided tickets (general and combined), no changes are accepted once the purchase is made.

The activity is maintained unless there's an official closure of the monument due to weather or another announced reason. In that case, a solution is arranged based on availability and the booked option.

The Alcazaba has a partially adapted route, but some areas have limitations due to the monument's own structure: stairs, narrow sections and uneven ground. It's worth checking beforehand which option best suits your access needs.

Children under 6 enter for free. Children under 16 get a reduced rate. In all cases, they must be included in the booking for capacity control.
